Hosted by Plus X Innovation in partnership with the Brighton Fashion Collective, we're delighted to present our third annual Slow Fashion Week event.
With an incredible line-up of industry experts, we’ll explore how brands of all sizes can move beyond the traditional take–make–dispose model, embrace circular thinking and create the innovations needed for a more resilient fashion future. This event brings together founders, brands, designers and changemakers who are rewriting the future of fashion, one where waste is designed out, materials stay in circulation, and creativity replaces consumption.
No greenwashing. No guilt trips. Just big ideas, brilliant people, and pulling the thread on an industry that needs to pull its socks up.

You’ll have the chance to discover work from makers exploring sustainable jewellery, textiles, upcycling, repair and circular fashion, including Rose Honey and The Subversive Stitcher.

This is an evening built for ideas, but also for meeting the people behind them.

Speakers
Rachel Jefferson is a circular designer, consultant and maker whose work explores responsible design, sourcing, and product development.
Through Label Hjem, she transforms discarded post-consumer garments into new pieces, challenging the value we place on clothing and materials.
Author of Fashion Supply Chain Management: Integrating Sustainability through the Fashion Supply Chain.
Nicola Mansfield brings an education and supply chain perspective to the conversation, exploring how sustainability can be embedded through the way fashion is designed, sourced, made, and managed.
Mohammed Patel brings practical experience from across the UK textile collection, sorting, reuse, and recycling sector.
He will explore what happens to clothing after collection, and how policy, infrastructure, and circular ambitions are shaping the future of fashion and textiles.
Janelle is a denim designer and founder of White Weft, a circular design and repair studio who has collaborated with renowned names like Vivienne Westwood, and Paul Smith.
Having reworked hundreds of pairs of jeans, Janelle brings a unique perspective to ask how we can design better products, value them for longer, and keep more clothing in circulation.

The people I have met here make it a dream coming in a few times a week! I don't see myself being able to go back to working from home the same way I did before coming to Plus X Innovation, I don't think I could leave the sense of community behind. Central Research Laboratory has contributed to our journey in many ways: access to a network, manufacturing, procurement services, and workshop facilities. CRL enables us to feel like a slightly bigger company than we would otherwise be if left to our own devices. Being here at CRL as a cohort member, makes it feel a lot more real and plugged in into the ecosystem.
Besides the workshop facilities, the best thing about working in the Brighton hub has got to be being able to collaborate with people in the same building as you. The variety of expertise and experience in the building is awesome.
We could not be in a better place to grow as a company. We get amazing support from the Plus X Innovation staff, plus collaboration opportunities with the other inspiring residents and companies. We feel like we’re living in the future of workplaces in the present and that is pretty damn cool.
Through my time at Plus X Innovation my business has turned from a student project into a registered R&D company. My favourite thing about being at Plus X Brighton is having a mini family in the office and a beautiful space to be the best you and make the best connections.
