Central Research Laboratory: A legacy
Established in 2015, the Central Research Laboratory was founded to champion and support hardware innovation, recognising the pivotal role it plays in the UK economy and in the search for solutions to our most pressing global and social challenges.
Through collaborative workspace, product development space and support, and industry-leading innovation programmes including the CRL Accelerator, CRL supported hundreds of businesses on their innovation journeys.
In November 2023, CRL relocated to the new Plus X Innovation hub in Slough to continue its important work supporting startups and growing businesses to bring new ideas to market. Get in touch to find out more about the ongoing legacy of the Central Research Laboratory.

The continued impact of the CRL Accelerator in London
From 2017 to 2023, 69 companies were supported through 10 cohorts of the Central Research Laboratory's signature programme CRL Accelerator. Throughout the course of the internationally-recognised programme, entrepreneurs are supported on their journeys to create physical products and solve major challenges with hardware solutions.
